LiDAR — Light Detection and Ranging — uses laser pulses to measure distances with extraordinary precision. Mounted on a UAV, a LiDAR sensor fires hundreds of thousands of pulses per second, building a dense three-dimensional point cloud of everything the beam touches.
Unlike photogrammetry, LiDAR works in low-light conditions and can penetrate vegetation to capture the bare-earth terrain beneath. The result is survey-grade spatial data that traditional methods would take days or weeks to acquire.
Combined with RTK/PPK GNSS positioning, drone LiDAR delivers centimetre-accurate outputs suitable for engineering, planning, construction and asset management workflows.
